A WRENCHING AFFAIR ..............48"x48" Original oil on canvas
While helping a friend clean out his garage I stumbled across an old rust crusted tool box. It looked as though it had not been opened in years. My curiosity took over...I could not resist the urge to see what was in side the box. I pried open the latch. With some trepidation I gently opened the sqweeky lid. A WRENCHING AFFAIR is what I saw. The gaggle of various wrenches all with seemly their own personalities. It was as if they were all talking at once....or perhaps shouting..."let us out so we can get to work". I photographed the tool box. A few weeks later I began the painting from the photograph that I cropped to the composition you see in the painting. I enjoyed the process of depicting the "nature" of the tools a I saw them. The painting took about 4 weeks. It has been show at several galleries and exhibitions. The original is available for sale. Giglee's of various sizes are also available. Please contact me for detailed information.
